A Cheesy Christmas Story
A CHEESY CHRISTMAS STORY – Santa is cross, he thinks he is too fat but his mum loves him just the way he is. Indeed even feeding him up with too much fatty food—in particular too much cheese. Santa has other ideas though and goes about losing weight to be the shape he wants to be. This charming Christmas story was written with the help of nursery school children, using their ideas and concepts through workshops done with the author.
“Numeracy, literacy, health and wellbeing are crosscutting themes in the Curriculum for Excellence. We have looked at health and wellbeing as a focus area within the nursery and were extremely pleased to work with WhiteWater Publishing in demonstrating to the children how a book was created from initial idea to final product.
“Working with a published author has been an ideal vehicle through which the children can enjoy literacy as well as incorporating the ‘health and wellbeing’ subject into that process. This has been a fabulous opportunity for the children to be involved in their own learning through an activity which shows them a final outcome in the form of a published book.”
